Kris Tuttle - Founder and Director of Research

Kris Tuttle has long been a researcher of technology, companies and markets. He puts research to work as an investor, publisher, and company advisor.

Kris is probably best known for his work in software equity research from 1995 to 2000, where his name is closely associated with many successful infrastructure companies of the period, including Atria Software, Rational Software, BEA Systems, Business Objects, Netscape and dozens of others for which he was widely recognized by institutional investors as the most informed, independent and money-making analyst in the market.

He has 27 years of experience in technology, business and investing across a variety of domains, including as a Director of Research at SoundView Technology Group and Adams Harkness & Hill, a Vice President of Institutional Sales at S.G. Warburg in New York City, an executive for eight years at IBM, an AI researcher for three years at Carnegie Mellon and several positions with start-up companies during the early years of micro-computing.

Some significant affiliations include: VP of Business Development and CFO for Good Data Corporation in Prague, advisory board of alfabet meta-modelling AG in Berlin, Germany, limited partner of Azure Capital Partners in San Francisco, California and a direct private investor in Cape Clear Software in Dublin, Ireland. Kris wrote his first line of code in 1979, received his BS in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 1984, made his first investment in 1985, and acquired an MBA from the NYU Stern School in 1992.


Stephen Waite - Senior PM/Strategist

Steve Waite is a noted institutional investment manager, strategic advisor, and author. A Wall Street professional for over twenty two years, he was a co-founder of a multi-billion dollar investment management firm. Steve has extensive experience in global economic and financial market issues with tenures at Morgan Stanley & Co, The Capital Group, Merrill Lynch, and CSAM/BEA Associates. In addition, he served as the Chief Knowledge Officer of ThelnfoPro, Inc., an independent technology research firm where he currently serves on the Board of Directors.

A former Adjunct Professor of Finance at Quinnipiac University, Steve is the author of the book Quantum Investing and co-author of the book, Boomernomics. His economic and financial research has been published in several books and professional journals including The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Fortune, Barrons, Business Week and Worth. Stephen has a Masters Degree in Economics from The Pennsylvania State University and is a participant at the Santa Fe Institute.


Jacqueline Wattimo - Business Manager

Jacqueline Wattimo brings more than a decade of experience coordinating, planning and supporting daily operational and support functions to the position of Business Manager. Her skills in delivering top-notch customer service in the health care, airline and event planning industries provides the connective tissue that unifies Research 2.0's geographically dispersed group of staff and clients.

Results-oriented and skilled at juggling multiple projects to efficiently and effectively meet both front-end and back-end administrative demands, Jacqueline is quick to achieve our objectives and resolve issues on the fly to ensure operations run smoothly and client needs are serviced in a timely, proactive manner.

Jacqueline is the point person for all your customer service, account management, contract and business management questions. For our international clients, in addition to English Jacqueline is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.


Dennis Byron - Senior Analyst

With nearly 30 years' experience researching and analyzing virtually every area of information technology and systems, Dennis Byron brings a broad knowledge-base to his role as senior analyst for Research 2.0. Dennis' deep research background includes a long history of ERP and middleware software market analysis for both IDC and McGraw-Hill's Datapro division. He has conducted more than 500 specific information technology studies and actively writes on open source software, web services architecture and service-oriented architecture.

As senior analyst, Dennis applies his rich research background to providing close coverage and ongoing analysis of software names in the enterprise and Research 2.0's Web 20 group, including Oracle, Microsoft, Red Hat, IBM, SAP and Google among others. Dennis is also a frequent contributor to the Research 2.0 blog.


Howard Kaye, Jr.- Senior Analyst

Howard Kaye Jr. brings nearly 20 years' experience in the air transport and aerospace industry to bear in his role as a senior consulting analyst for Research 2.0's newly developed on-demand air travel coverage area.

Associated with his work in advancing a hosted applications solution utilizing advanced technologies to revolutionize technical information exchange operations across the industry's supply chain of fleet operators, airframe and engine manufacturers and component suppliers, Howard has collaborated with a rich cross-section of industry, government and academic/research organizations. These include the Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the Regional Airline Association, the Aerospace Industries Association, the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Transportation Safety, Board, U.S. Department of Defense, the White House Commission on Aviation Security, the National Commission to Insure a Strong Competitive Airline Industry, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Howard has also been actively engaged with the ATA Technical Information and Communications Committee and its successor entity the ATA e-Business Program to establish international digital standards for aircraft technical data exchange.
