Membership Information
We have three basic levels of paid membership:
Core: Deep level of engagement and great deal of overlap with our research areas. Involves an annual advisory fee and often milestone or incentive payments. This is a two-way relationship that very much aligns our mutual efforts and resources to shape our research output and deliverables. Obviously we can only do this with a handful of clients at a time and it's not cheap but much less then the cost of hiring of a single experienced analyst.
Subscriber: Subscribers receive everything we publish and have the ability to make ad-hoc inquiries regarding the material. This is primarily a one-way relationship and is a good fit for those who are spending only a portion of their time on emerging technology opportunities or work with many providers.
Advisory: Often our services are desired for a specific project to develop a business opportunity, work out a strategic plan, position a company, provide a technology assessment or other specific research and consulting task. These typically run from one to six months and are limited to a handful each year. The cost is based on standard consulting rates and generally tied to milestones and deliverables.
Of course there is a free option too which puts you on our distribution list for periodic research updates with links to our published content that can be purchased a la carte. Most of the content on our blogs is also free and is representative of the type of research we are doing inside the company.
Examples of the types of content and services we provide for different types of clients:
- Institutional Investors: We distill our long-term themes into specific stock conclusions and model portfolios. Investors receive alerts regarding changes in thematic direction or magnitude as well as specific opportunities in individual stocks. Our sector and company models are all available for download and use. Any current or potential investment can be evaluated using our research and valuation methodology on-demand.
- Venture Capitalists: The most valuable service we render to venture investors is our ability to help existing and potential portfolio companeis. The long-term nature of our thematic approach serves venture investing well. We also provide material and participate in VC portfolio company review meetings and presentations.
- Company Managements: Most senior managers are more focused on running their businesses than overall market trends, competition, company positioning and investor sentiment. However the latter can be just as, if not more important, to ultimate company value. We focus on these areas for our corporate members and provide them with the information they need to be attuned and effective in these areas without a huge investment in time or energy. Our honest, outside perspective, helps company managements focus on the best opportunities to add value.
Those that don't already know us are encouraged to start with the free or subscription offering which are easy to set up. At the same time anyone who is already familiar with our work and/or has a pressing need for core or advisory services should simply contact us and we will do our utmost to determine if we can be of assistance and if not who might be.
